THEHOLYROSARY.SUBSTACK.COM | MAY 23, 2024 to MAY 29th 2024
Do not complain, brothers and sisters, about one another, that you may not be judged. Behold, the Judge is standing before the gates. Take as an example of hardship and patience, brothers and sisters, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Indeed we call blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of the perseverance of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, because the Lord is compassionate and merciful. But above all, my brothers and sisters, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath, but let your "Yes" mean "Yes" and your "No" mean "No," that you may not incur condemnation.
James 5: 9-12

CONSECRATION JOURNEY FOR BUSY PEOPLE:
FOCUS ON YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL IN THE next 7 days, consistently waking up to greet your angel and then going to bed, and saying good night.
If the goal of the next 7 days is to obtain knowledge of self… what better way to know yourself than to ask for the assistance of your Guardian Angel? Here is the prayer led by Amelia from an earlier consecration journey:
To help children, Amelia reads from the Baltimore Catechism:
Finally, Amelia cites the Popes who speak of the assistance of their Guardian Angels:
Lastly, Amelia tells her favorite story of the Guardian Angel of St. Padre Pio from the book she read about his life: “Padre Pio: The Glimpse into the Miraculous”.
LEVEL 2: PRAY A DECADE OF THE ROSARY AND / OR THE LITANIES RECOMMENDED BY ST. LOUIS MARIE DE MONTFORT
MORE TIME?
LEVEL 2: INVOKE THE HOLY SPIRIT
AWAKEN WITH YOUR GUARDIAN ANGEL WHEN YOUR EYES OPEN EVERY DAY
CAN YOU WAKE UP EARLY TOMORROW / THE NEXT 7 DAYS?
TRY PRAYING THE LITANY to the HOLY SPIRIT EVERY MORNING before you do anything else, waking maybe 10-15 minutes earlier than usual.
ASK THE HOLY SPIRIT TO REVEAL TO YOU HOW GOD SEES YOU LITANY TO THE HOLY GHOST and ask for God to allow you to conduct a solid examination of conscience as if tomorrow were your final judgement. How would Jesus see you in light of the Commandments?
GO BEYOND THE QUESTION, “WHY DO ‘bad things happen to ‘good’ people”. Jesus reminds us that only “GOD is GOOD” (MARK 10: 18)
“Jesus said to him, “Why do you call me good? No one is good but God alone.”
Instead, consider:
What are you struggling with? What struggles in your life exist such that God is calling you to gain a particular virtue? How can we reframe the struggles in our lives to rethink God’s plan for all of us? Watch this video with Fr. Chad Rippenger for a deeper discussion on the way God allows suffering to achieve in a soul virtue that will also overcome vice and in light of Heaven, be rewarded by a high level of sanctifying grace.

LEVEL IV: UNDERSTAND THE WHY BEHIND YOUR PRAYERS
Context is everything.
Perhaps you have Humanities grad-school professors who used to say to this to you repeatedly as if to remember that the mark of any good researcher or even just a reader or thinker is to go deeper and to figure out the context in which, through which, around which something in the world exists.
This is the nature of the “Educated Imagination”, in many ways. And ‘Apologetics’ proper, even for children, cannot operate in any valid way without this kind of robust investigative curiosity that can explore topics laterally and vertically, while also fostering an openness to accepting we are subjected to the philosophical limitations that Plato himself warned us of (due to our blindness as sheep) in his myth of “The Cave”.
So much of the time, Bishop Barron notes, those with a claim to even practical atheism complain that they would believe in God if the argument were more intellectually robust. In some ways, as we rethink what it means to live in the “info” age, there should be efforts on the part of the Faithful, and the Domestic Church, to resist what Bishop Barron complains is a “watering down” of the Faith.
There is room, as you even see with today’s post, for even a 10-year-old, to grasp the words of a prayer and to reflect on the writings of the Popes and the Saints. One shift in how we see ourselves, however, especially as parents in the Domestic Church, is as leaders with the capacity to open an imagination to the light of Heaven.
In many ways, we can look to the leadership of the General of Christ’s army: Our Lady who is the Queen of Angels — she did not hold back the most difficult eschatological lessons to children of 6, 8, 10, asking them to prepare to suffer and to make reparation to her Immaculate Heart to save souls.
In many ways, by aligning children with their purpose for prayer, “the Why” of their prayers”, and by introducing them to the power of the Guardian Angel and the Guardian Angel of Portugal, she also emphasized the power of formation in the Eucharistic Jesus which transfigures our hearts, minds and eternal souls according to Christ’s beauty, light, Truth and penetrating Holiness so that and His majesty might fill-us with His Grace, Mercy and Love, leaving no room for watered down approach to Peace in the World.
Even as on Trinity Sunday we are called to “go out” and make disciples, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, we are summoned also to take the time to deepen our capacity to grasp the why of prayer so as to help others do the same. Our prayers can no longer be self-serving methods of getting to Heaven, but a means through which God can deliver others.
LEVEL V: A CIBORIUM OF HOSTS
St. Faustina uses the image of the Ciborium of Hosts.
If you already have the routine of praying the Rosary and the Litany to Loretto, Amelia invites you to check out this interesting video which she watched the other day to understand the "Mystery" of the Holy House and its apparent link to the Angels: What do you think about this story?
ABOUT THE LITANY OF LORETO (Dayton University, USA)
"The Litany of Loreto, so called because of its use in the sanctuary of Loreto (Italy) since at least as far back as 1531, was officially approved in 1587 by Pope Sixtus V. Its origin is believed to be a medieval rhymed litany influenced by Eastern Marian devotion, in particular by the famous Hymnos Akathistos. Contrasting with the older Litany of All Saints, the components of the Loreto Litany are purely ad- or invocational prayers. It is the only approved Marian litany. As can be observed, for example, in the so called Officia Mariana, many more Marian litanies were and are in use but designatedfor private devotion."
