THE HOLY ROSARY | THEHOLYROSARY.SUBSTACK.COM,
LESSON: "MEU DEUS"
February 11 began the Rosary Novena with St. Francisco and St. Jacinta, a prayer leading up to the February 20th Memorial celebrated in Portugal and mirroring the efforts by the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Fatima which you can follow on their site as well.
SEE:
https://www.fatima.pt/pt/multimedia/audio/novena-dos-pastorinhos for the novena podcast in Portugese.
The RHP Novena consists of learning the "MEU DEUS" with your regular Rosary devotion, as taught above by Fr. Nuno and Fr. David Michael.
Also, Fr. Anthony provides a short lesson on the Angel of Portugal.
This novena will also include the powerful writings of St. Francis de Sales as part of your Rosary routine and as a sacrifice for the intentions you wish to make for this daily offering.
INTRO TO NOVENA — The First Meditation (of 10)
by: St. Francis de Sales:
“On our creation”
Preparation
1. Place yourself in the presence of God. Beseech him to inspire you.
Considerations
1. Consider that so many years ago that your being was a mere nothing. Where were we, O my soul, at that time? The world had lasted so many ages, and yet there was no news of us.
2. God has framed you out of this nothing to make you what you are, merely of his own goodness; having no need at all of you.
3. Consider the being that God has given you; for it is the highest in this visible world, capable of eternal life, and of being perfectly united with his divine majesty.
Affections and Resolutions
1. Humble yourself exceedingly in the presence of God, saying in your heart with the psalmist: O Lord, I am in thy sight a mere nothing; and how hadst thou remembrance of me to create me? Alas, my soul, thou wert
engulfed in that ancient nothing, and hast yet been there had not God drawn thee thence. And what couldst thou have done remaining there?
2. Give thanks to God. O my great and good creator, how am I obliged to thee, since thou hast vouchsafed to take me out of this nothing, and by thy great mercy to make me what I am! What can I do to bless thy holy name as I ought, and to render due thanks to thy inestimable goodness?
3. Confound yourself. But, alas! my creator, instead of uniting myself to thee by love and service, I have been a rebel to thee by my inordinate affections, wandering and straying away from thee, to unite myself to sin; valuing thy goodness no more than if thou hadst not been my creator.
4. Prostrate yourself before God. O my soul, know that the Lord is thy God: It is he that has made thee, and not thou thyself. O God, I am the work of thy hands.
5. I will then no more henceforth take pleasure in myself, since of myself I am nothing. Why dost thou magnify thyself, O dust and ashes? Yea, rather, O very nothing, why dost thou exalt thyself? To humble therefore myself, I resolve to do such and such things; to suffer such and such disgraces: I will change my life, and henceforth follow my creator and esteem myself honored with that condition and being which he has given me, employing it entirely in obedience to his will, by such means as shall be taught me, and as I shall learn from my ghostly Father.
Conclusion
1. Give thanks to God. Bless thy God, O my soul, and let all that is within me praise his holy name; for his goodness has drawn me, and his mercy has created me out of nothing.
2. Offer. O my God, I offer to thee the being which thou hast given me: from my heart I dedicate and consecrate it to thee. 3. Pray. O God, strengthen me in these affections and resolutions. O blessed Virgin, recommend them to the mercy of thy Son, with all for whom I ought to pray. Pater. Ave. Credo.

The appearance of the Angel of Portugal to Saint Jacinta, Saint Francisco and Venerable Lúcia for the first time took place in the Loca do Cabeço in Spring 1916.
It and began as narrated below in this new translation
VENERABLE LÚCIA writes:
“In my written account about Jacinta, I have already described how we climbed the hillside in search of a shelter; and how, after having lunched and prayed there, we began to see, at some distance away and above the trees that stretched toward the East, a light whiter than snow in the form of a youth, transparent and more brilliant than a crystal pierced by the rays of the sun. As he drew near, we went toward him, we could make out his features. We were surprised and half absorbed. We did not say a word. Upon drawing near to us, he said:
"Be not afraid, I am the Angel of Peace. Pray with me."
And kneeling down upon the earth he bowed his brow down to the ground. Carried the motion of the supernatural, we imitated him and repeated the words which we heard him pronounce:
"My God, I believe, I adore, I hope in you and I love You. I ask your forgiveness for those who do not believe in you, do not adore you, do not hope in you and do not love You."
After repeating this three times, he stood up and said:
"Continue to pray in this way. The hearts of Jesus and Mary are attentive to the voice of your supplications."
And he disappeared.
The aura of the supernatural which enveloped us was so intense, that for a long period of time we had almost no awareness of our own existence, remaining in the position in which he had left us, repeating the same prayer over and over. The presence of God felt so intense and so intimate that we dared not speak even amongst ourselves. The next day, we sensed that our spirit was still enveloped by that aura, which was disappearing only very slowly.

NOVENA LIVE RECORD NOTES by FR. ANTHONY GRAMLICH1
You are listening to the Digital Café, presented to you by the Rosary Hour Podcast.
FR. ANTHONY: God does exist. It's one of the reasons why she was showing herself, you know, to show that there is something spiritual. It's one of the reasons why the Angel of Portugal, the Guardian Angel of Portugal, appeared to the people was to show them, yes, Angels exist, ... the spiritual world exists, that there is something more, and it is the reason why Mary our lady showed them a vision of Hell; she asked them, first of all, to make reparation for sin, for sinners, but then she showed them a vision of Hell to WHY to make reparation for sinners.
That if you don't make reparation for sinners, then this is what can happen, is people can lose their souls for all eternity, so she encouraged them to make reparation doing the First Saturday Devotion and to pray the Rosary -- to continue to pray for sinners, lest they be lost. God doesn't want any soul to be lost. But sometimes when you have these philosophies in there that deny the existence of God, deny the existence of the soul, or anything spiritual, then Heaven has to intervene to show that, you know, Heaven does exist -- the Spiritual does exist -- that our actions do have eternal consequences for Heaven, Purgatory or Hell."
This is Fr. Chris Alar, the Provincial Superior of the Marian Fathers here at the National Shrine of the Divine Mercy, and it's great to be part of the Rosary Hour Podcast.
This mini-series on the Rosary is an invitation for anyone dedicated to deepening the why behind our prayers. And with that intention, a chance to offer to the mother of God a genuine desire for change of heart and return to God.
Thank you and enjoy and God bless you.
